Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, where Jesus washed his disciples' feet, teaching them the way of humble loving service. The act of washing feet was reserved for the lowest servant, but Jesus, their Lord, did it to demonstrate that true greatness comes through serving others. He was not ashamed to take off clothing, get down on the floor and wash the dirty feet of those he loved.
