Leadership Development

We love developing leaders. One of the most exciting aspects of being part of a growing, multivenue church is that new leaders are constantly emerging.

Jesus taught us: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”  (Luke 16:10)
Therefore, we look for people who are FAT. People who are Faithful, Available and Teachable.
What this means in practice is coaching people into leadership through a four-stage process.

1) WARM UP - I do. You Watch. We Talk.

Join a Life Group and a Serving Team. Begin to catch something of what we are about as a church. Ask as many questions as you like.

2) ON YOUR MARKS - We do. I Watch. We Talk.

Offer to take a lead within your Life Group or Serving Team. If in doubt where to start, pick one of the less pleasant areas where nobody else seems to want to take a lead.

3) GET SET - You do. I Watch. We Talk.

Become a Life Group Leader or a Serving Team leader, allowing senior leaders to coach and shape your leadership gifting.

4) GO! - You do. Someone else watches.

Become a senior leader yourself, pouring out your life into others as a leader of leaders. It isn’t easy, but it’s fruitful. There are few things more rewarding in life than seeing God multiply your own mature leadership gifting into others.

New Ground Academy

The New Ground Academy is a training community for church leaders and church shapers - mainly, but by no means exclusively, from the New Ground family of churches.
